Who can apply for an account

This section provides information on our account eligibility criteria.

Savings products
 

You need to be a UK resident aged 16 or over and hold a UK bank or building society account. You can open an account solely or jointly with one other person also aged 16 or over.

 

Cash ISAs
 

You need to be a UK resident aged 16 or over and hold a UK bank or building society account to save with Ford Money. You must also be a UK resident taxpayer with a National Insurance number. You cannot open a joint ISA.

 

Groups who cannot apply
 

We don’t allow the following groups of people to apply for our products:

  • Undischarged bankrupts
  • Those with a legal disability who are not able to make their own financial decisions

 


Can I open a savings account for someone else?
 

You can only apply for an account if you are legally entitled to under either a Power of Attorney, or as a Deputy or Trustee for someone deemed incapable of making their own financial decisions. The person on whose behalf you are applying must also be aged 16 or over.
